For four years, the Barry Bonds Family Foundation has supported the evidenced-based literacy non-profit Reading Partners San Francisco Bay Area in their work providing individualized literacy support to Bay Area students from low-income communities. This past year the Foundation has awarded another generous grant to Reading Partners in support of their work with 1,600 students across the region at 30 high-need elementary schools.
Reading Partners is dedicated to unlocking the skills of students who struggle with reading. They provide one-on-one reading instruction to elementary school students reading below grade level to help them succeed in school and in life. They partner with under-resourced schools and train community tutors to help students who struggle with reading unlock and develop the foundational skills they need to succeed in all aspects of life.
Reading is essential for future learning. In order to learn, students must be able to read. We want to give all children an equal chance at success, regardless of their environment. Reading Partners is a fantastic resource to help our future generation succeed.
